Mission 

The mission of the Director of Finance is to deliver accurateand timely financial reporting & analysis, uphold accounting and financial controlsprocesses, and support strategic capital allocation decisions. This willinclude, but not be limited to helping shape product and service portfoliostrategies, forming recommendations for investments and financing decisions,and communicating with key internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and cash flow statements for consolidated entities. Deliver unaudited GAAP financial statements within 15 calendar days of month-end.
  • Lead development of key performance indicator dashboard with real-time insights including maintenance of ARR and retention metrics.
  • Lead creation of error-free finance section of board of director materials that deliver critical insights.
  • Collaborate with external CPA firms on financial audits, tax filings, and the generation of financial reports.
  • Maintain and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable. Accountable for prompt collection of overdue balances and payment of past due payables.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Manage the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department leaders to align budgets with company goals.
  • Conduct financial forecasting, including maintenance of a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast (updated weekly), rolling 12-month reforecast (updated quarterly), and three-year financial model (updated annually).
  • Proactively complete analysis to identify financial and business trends to provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Collaborate with CEO and Account Executives on pricing models and sales forecasts.
  • Collaborate with CEO and Customer Success Managers on client return on investment (ROI) analyses.

Cash & Expense Management

  • Manage company cash flow, bank accounts, and financing sources, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost of capital.
  • Monitor and report on company spending to identify cost-saving opportunities and reduce operational expenses.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements, adhering to established protocols.

Compliance & Financial Systems

  • Manage accounting and financial controls in compliance with auditor recommendations & best practices while ensuring compliance with all financial and accounting regulations.
  • Maintain and optimize financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill Pay, and other tools) to support efficient reporting and decision-making.

Experience & Skills
A successful candidate will posses the following experiences and skills:

  • 3+ years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience is required.
    • Experience should include preparation of GAAP financial statements, managing audits, maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulations and collaboration with external CPA firms for reporting and tax filings.
    • Experience with cash flow management, expense control, payroll processing, and managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable is required.
  • 2+ years of financial planning & analysis experience is highly preferred.
    • Experience should include development of budgets, multi-year financial forecasts, key performance indicator analysis (including recurring revenue metrics like retention rates).
  • Familiarity with software revenue and business models is required. Experience working at a recurring revenue-based software company is highly desired.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including financial modeling techniques are required. Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint is also required.
  • Experience working with NetSuite and QuickBooks is highly desired.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills, and prioritization & time management skills.
  • Highly analytical & data driven problem solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics
    • An MBA or CPA is desirable, but not required.
